Membership Process

Because we have completed our initial sale of homes, our recruitment efforts are focusing on establishing a waiting list for new members and keeping in touch to let folks know when units become available. If you might be interested in joining us, drop us a line.

Once you are on our wait list, in addition to checking this page for updates on available homes, here are some ways to get to know us better:

• Connect with one or more current community members by phone, email, or in person to serve as guides to your exploration of Village Hearth
• Conduct one or more visits to Durham.
• Direct questions to member contacts.
• Identify skills, talents, and interests that you can share with us.
• Read The Senior Housing Handbook, particularly Chapter 7.
• Attend team meetings, social events, workdays, and workshops, as appropriate.

Note that for the duration of Covid 19, we will be holding all meetings, workshops, and social get-togethers through Zoom. Notification of these activities will be provided to folks on our waitlist.
